The New York Jets signed Le’Veon Bell to a massive contract this past offseason, something head coach Adam Gase was against entirely.
The team just might be looking to part ways with the star running back just one season into the deal.
Via NY Daily News:
“The Jets will be amenable to trading Bell again this offseason, according to sources. (They’ll have to absorb part of the money owed to the player to have any realistic chance of moving him).”
The team had reportedly shopped the three-time Pro Bowler ahead of the trade deadline, with many teams seemingly interested in his services, including the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bell carries salary cap hits of $15.5 million, $13.5 million and $15 million over the next three seasons.
He is averaging just 82.7 yards per game and 3.2 yards per carry. He hasn’t had a single 100-yard game during the 2019 season.
