The NFL has come down hard New York Jets wide receiver coach Miles Austin, suspending him for a minimum of one year, pending his appeal.
Not much information has been released regarding Austin’s actions that resulted in the suspension. According to the ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there is no indication that Austin bet on the NFL. He did, however, bet on other sports, which put him in violation of the league’s personnel gambling policy.
It was also reported that Austin intends to appeal the suspension.
The league said that they will not be releasing any more information until after the appeal process, so we may have to wait until them to get all of the details regarding Austin’s suspension.
The Jets have also confirmed the news, confirming that the suspension is for a minimum of a year, pending the appeal.
