After two consecutive playoff seasons, the Texans won just four games in 2020. Despite the lack of team success, Watson led the NFL with 4,823 passing yards and 33 touchdowns in 16 games.
His lack of success and downright terrible moves by the franchise had led to speculation that he wants out.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that many believe he has played his final game with the franchise. He then added that the New York Jets are better positioned team to make a trade package to get him.
It was just a few days ago when the Jets hired 49ers DC Robert Saleh as their new head coach. He was on the list of coaches that Watson wanted the Texans to interview, and they never put in a request.
