Sterling Shepard celebrated his place in the Giants’ record book after a third reception in a 27-10 victory against the Eagles on Sunday.
He played sparingly in this final year under contract, after his previous two seasons were cut short by a torn Achilles and a torn ACL.
Now his time with the G-Men is over.
On Tuesday, the New York Giants wide receiver took to social media and announced his time with the team was over.
Shepard hasn’t officially announced his retirement, but his commitment to raising two daughters in the area is a complicating factor.

Shepard has spent the past eight years with the Giants, highlighted by two trips to the postseason. His rookie year in 2016 saw him post an impressive 65 receptions for 683 yards and a career-high eight touchdowns.
In 2018, Shepard posted a career-best 872 yards and four touchdowns.
In 2021, Shepard appeared in seven games before suffering a torn Achilles.
In 2022, he tore his ACL in Week 3.
After an exciting 9-7-1 playoff season in 2022, expectations for 2023 were sky-high for the Giants but they finished 6-11 and in third place in the NFC East.
