During the New York Giants Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys, star rookie Malik Nabers had to be helped off the field after suffering a concussion.
Of course, though, it came on a Thursday Night Football game, which meant he would have nine full days to recover and possibly be ready for the Giants Week 5 matchup against the Seahawks.
Now, when recovering from a concussion, there is a five-phase protocol a player must go through before getting cleared to play. The third step is football-specific exercises, meaning the player can return to practice for 30 minutes or less.
Unfortunately, though, on Thursday, it was reported that Nabers again missed practice, which likely means he has still not gotten past that third phase. That possibly means he doesn’t have enough time to clear concussion protocol and will miss Sunday’s game.
Of course, with how severe head injuries can be, as seen by the recent struggles from Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, it’s not something you want a player coming back from too early.

If that is the case, it would be a huge blow for the Giants’ offense and Nabers, as he was on pace to have one of the best rookie wide receiver seasons ever and potentially break the receiving yards record set by Puka Nakua in 2023.
Malike Nabers Has Had A Historic Start To His Career
It’s not usual for a non-quarterback rookie to join a team and have as much of an impact as Malik Nabers.
Through his first four games, he has accumulated 35 receptions, which leads the league, 386 yards, and three touchdowns.
He has solidified himself as quarterback Daniel Jones’s favorite target, consistently keeping New York in the game.
