New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito could live in a luxurious home all by himself with the six-figure salary he makes as a professional football player.
But via ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, DeVito recently revealed that he’s still happily and comfortably living at home with his parents in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. DeVito added that his laundry is taken care of and that his mother still makes his bed:
“It was a no-brainer for me (choosing to live at home). Everything that I need is there at the house. The decision was made since this level of football is stressful for a rookie, especially from the quarterback position. There is a lot going on, a lot of meetings. So everything outside of football is handled by my family.
“I don’t have to worry about laundry, what I’m eating for dinner, chicken cutlets and all that is waiting for me when I get there. My mom still makes my bed. Everything is handled for me. Honestly, I don’t even know if I could find a place closer to here than where I live. It takes me 12 minutes to get here.”
DeVito played college football at Syracuse and Illinois before turning professional. He went undrafted but signed with the Giants after the 2023 NFL Draft. With Daniel Jones out for the year (torn ACL) and backup Tyrod Taylor (ribs) out, DeVito is getting the start for tomorrow night’s road game against the archrival Dallas Cowboys.
DeVito had to relieve Jones in last Sunday’s road loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. We’ll find out in less than 24 hours if DeVito can help his team pull off a stunning upset.
