Not every member of the New York Giants’ starting roster is back in the United States, as one player is dealing with a passport issue.
The Giants traveled overseas to take on the Green Bay Packers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England on Sunday. New York upset Aaron Rodgers’ squad 27-22 to improve their record to 4-1 on the season.
According to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Giants punter Jamie Gillan is still in London because of a passport issue. Garofolo added that he’s “expected to” come back to the United States on Thursday.
To be safe, the Giants will work out multiple punters should an issue arise, Garafolo noted.
The 27-year-old Gillan is in his first season with the Giants, having spent his first three NFL campaigns with the Cleveland Browns. Thanks to a strong performance by the New York offense, Gillan only had to punt twice against the Packers.

Gillan is averaging 51.0 yards per punt, the fourth-best mark in the league behind only Ryan Stonehouse of the Tennessee Titans (54.9) yards per punt), Tommy Townsend of the Kansas City Chiefs (53.3) and A.J. Cole of the Las Vegas Raiders (52.1).
The Giants-Packers game was the third of five scheduled NFL International Series contests in London for this year. A week earlier, the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints met at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Minny winning 28-25.
Week 8 will see Russell Wilson’s Denver Broncos meet Trevor Lawrence’s Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium, the final scheduled NFL game in London for this year.
The other two International Series games of 2022 are the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany in Week 10 and the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Arizona Cardinals at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico in Week 11.
Gillan’s Giants return home now for a Week 6 showdown against Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens. We’ll find out soon enough if Gillan is indeed able to return in time for Sunday.
