Former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton was involved in a brawl on Sunday at an event in Atlanta, Georgia.
While several videos of the actual fight are circulating on the internet, there has yet to be any reason released as to why it happened and how it started.
New footage may shed light on what sparked the brawl which saw former NFL MVP Cam Newton violently attacked.
The quarterback, who last played for the Carolina Panthers in 2021, was involved in a brawl at a 7-on-7 football event in Atlanta.
One of the men involved, a TopShelf coach or affiliate, could be seen wearing a TopShelf Performance hoodie and appears to be involved in the fight.
He is heard trash-talking Newton. ‘I’m going to say it – they can’t hide the film now… your non-throwing ass Atlanta hero quarterback cannot beat me,’ the man says.

TopShelf beat C1N – Newton’s football program – in what was described as a heated contest.
Police and security staff were forced to break up the altercation, which saw Newton successfully keep multiple men at bay trying to attack him.
Some accounts online suggest Newton was trying to break up the fight before being dragged into the brawl, but it is hard to make out from the video footage.
Newton, a free-agent quarterback, led the Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2016 and was named the league MVP in 2015.
