The Dallas Cowboys’ run as the most hated team in the NFL is over for now…at least according to a new study.
Per Tiffany Wismer of FOX 21 News in Colorado, the BetOnline sportsbook recently conducted a study to determine the most hated team in football right now. Survey says…the Kansas City Chiefs, not the Cowboys, are now the most loathed NFL team of them all.
BetOnline conducted the search by looking at more than 120,000 posts on X/Twitter featuring negative tweets on teams. Via Wismer, an example would be a user posting a message such as, “I hate the Chiefs”.

You either loved or hated the Patriots during their dynastic run in the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era. Ditto for the Cowboys when they were a dynasty in the ’90s with Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith. And for the San Francisco 49ers in the ’80s and early ’90s with Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and later Steve Young.
Travis Kelce’s relationship with world-famous singer Taylor Swift has brought plenty more global exposure and popularity towards the football team. But as long as the Chiefs keep winning, they’ll be the team you either love or hate.
