The Pittsburgh Steelers are reported to be open to making a trade for one of their wide receivers this offseason.
Diontae Johnson is headed into the final year of his contract with the team but might end up playing that last season elsewhere as Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline has made claims of the AFC North side not being averse to a deal and would welcome one in which they receive adequate compensation for the player, though he is not on the trading block.
“While it’s not fair to say Johnson is on the trading block, several people tell me the Steelers are open to moving the receiver if they receive fair compensation,” Pauline reported on Sunday.
Johnson was a third-round pick out of Toledo in 2019. He has been one of the best wideouts in the division for the past few seasons, having registered 4,363 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns since his move up to the pros.
Mike Tomlin is keen on making changes after the Steelers exited the playoffs in the first round last season. As to whether Johnson’s absence will count as one of those changes remains to be seen.
