Two middling NFL teams and playoff hopefuls are reportedly at the top of Davante Adams’ wish list.
On Tuesday, news broke that Davante Adams requested a trade from the Raiders. The 31-year-old is in the third of a five-year, $140 million deal that he signed in 2022 after arriving via trade with the Green Bay Packers.
According to a repot from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints are “high” on Adams’ wish list of potential destinations. Schefter noted that the All-Pro receiver “ideally would like to play with a QB he knows.”
Adams, of course, played with current Jets QB Aaron Rodgers from 2014 to 2021, and with Saints signal-caller Derek Carr in 2022. Carr and Adams were also college teammates at Fresno State.
The Jets and Saints lost in Week 4 and are 2-2 entering this week’s slate of games. Both teams are in win-now mode and need additional help at wide receiver, so Davante Adams would be an ideal pickup for either organization.

Adams’ trade request came soon after he appeared on Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams” program and revealed that he hadn’t heard from head coach Antonio Pierce. The latter had been caught “liking” a post on Instagram about Adams potentially playing his final game in Sin City.
Through his first three games of 2024, Adams has 18 receptions for 209 yards and one touchdown. The six-time Pro Bowler has 221 receptions for 2,869 yards and 23 touchdowns as a Raider.
Jets Are The Best Landing Spot For Davante Adams
The Jets are especially under pressure to win with a soon-to-be 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers behind center. Garrett Wilson is off to a slow start (20 catches for 191 yards and a touchdown), and free agent signing Mike Williams only has eight receptions for 120 yards.
New York is closer to Super Bowl contention than New Orleans. Rodgers and Adams were football’s best QB-WR duo from 2016 to 2021, so the Jets are unquestionably the best landing spot.
