The NFL has postponed the Wild Card game between the Bills and the Steelers, pushing it from Sunday to Monday following the state of New York issuing a travel ban in certain areas.
While the move may have inconvenienced some people, it was unavoidable and simply had to be done. Still, it isn’t as simple as pushing a game back, there is a fallout.
For one, we won’t know who the Ravens will play in the Divisional round until that game is over. As Joe Ferreira points out, if the Steelers win, they will play the Ravens next Sunday, while the other AFC game will also take place on the day.
Should the Bills win, they will host the Chiefs if the latter beats the Dolphins, or the winner of the Browns-Texans game if the reigning Super Bowl champions lose. That’s also likely to be next Sunday.
If the Bills win, the Ravens will host the Dolphins on Saturday if Miami wins, or the winner of the Browns-Texans game if the Chiefs win.
Ferreira notes the NFL was hoping to have both of the AFC Divisional Round Games play out on Sunday, but that’s unlikely to happen now.
