Mason Crosby could possibly return to the NFL this season.
According to NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill, the former Green Bay Packers kicker was among players who worked out for the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday.
Underhill also noted that James McCourt and Taylor Bertolet had visits with the team too. Bertolet nailed all three of his field goal attempts for the Los Angeles Chargers last month.
“Saints are trying out kickers today, per sources. Mason Crosby, James McCourt are among those in the group,” he wrote on X.
Of the three players mentioned, Crosby is clearly the biggest name.
The 39-year-old spent 16 years in Green Bay, helping the team win a Super Bowl, and made 81.4 percent of his field goal attempts over the span of his career with the team.

Meanwhile, former Notre Dame star Blake Grupe has been taking care of placekicking duties for New Orleans this season. The first-year player has made 24 of his 30 field goal attempts in 11 games.
It will be interesting to see whether he gets replaced as it’s possible that Crosby gets to be the one who suits up for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.
