Michael Thomas caught an NFL-record 149 passes last season, but things have certainly changed this year as he has been unable to catch any sort of breaks.
The all-pro WR has played only one game, making three receptions for 17 yards in the season opener.
Aside from his nagging injuries, Thomas was in hot water with the team after he punched a teammate and got into a verbal argument with the coaches afterwards. He was reportedly suspended for their next game as a result.
Fast forward to the end of October and now there are talks of him possibly being traded, as reported by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Via the report:
“As the trade deadline approaches — and as the COVID-19 protocol as a practical matter accelerates the closing of the window for teams that hope to have new players ready to go for Week Nine — there’s an unlikely name to watch: Michael Thomas.
Some in league circles believe that the Saints could be willing to move him, and/or that Thomas could be interested in moving.”
