You can add another team to the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes, as the New Orleans Saints have emerged as the latest possible trade destination for the Houston Texans quarterback.
It was first reported by the NFL Network’s Jane Slater that the Saints could be in the mix for Watson’s services, as they were said to be among the teams monitoring his legal proceedings.

According to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, the Saints could make a move for Deshaun, five years after they passed on him with the 11th overall pick in the draft.
The Saints are currently in need of a quarterback, as Jameis Winston is a free agent, Taysom Hill doesn’t exactly look like a capable starter, and Drew Brees ain’t coming out of retirement. Many believe they’ll end up bringing back Winston, who had plenty of success in New Orleans before suffering a season ending knee injury. But that could all change should the decide to aggressively pursue Watson, like some other teams are said to be doing.

Sean Payton may not have been interested in bringing in Watson, but his time in NOLA is over. And it appears as though this new regime is intrigued by the prospects of having the current Texans quarterback under center for their team in 2022.
