It wouldn’t be the offseason without some drama surrounding Aaron Rodgers.
Aaron Rodgers had an “unexcused” absence from the Jets’ mandatory minicamp on Tuesday and is subject to a fine for not being around the team.
NFL reporter Connor Hughes explained on X that the legendary quarterback had previously planned a trip while he was still rehabbing from his torn Achilles. The Jets reportedly already knew about it. They also knew there would be an overlap with the release of the minicamp schedule.
Hughes further explained that Rodgers’ situation is listed as “unexcused” because you can’t excuse a trip. He also made it clear that despite what social media may think, there is zero unrest within the facility over this situation.
The Jets reportedly do not think this is a big deal since Rodgers has been at every voluntary workout over the last two years.

Missing a practice in June doesn’t relate to missing a training camp practice when we get to August.
Aaron Rodgers tore his left Achilles in his very first game with the Jets in September 2023. He failed to register a single pass or any yards after he was traded by the Packers to the Jets months earlier.
Robert Saleh Confirms Aaron Rodgers Is Subjected To Be Fined Over Missing Minicamp
Over the weekend, head coach Robert Saleh said he spoke with defensive tackle Haason Reddick, who is also missing, as well as four-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers.
“Aaron and I spoke before OTAs started,” Saleh said in a pre-practice media conference, per Yahoo. “He’s been very good in communication. He’s been here the entire time. It’s inexcused, but he had an event that was very important to him, which he communicated.”
Saleh confirmed that both players were subject to fines from the collective bargaining agreement.
Saleh further added that Rodgers “communicated a while ago” that he would be absent.
