The New England Patriots have made yet another interesting move at the quarterback position.
Per Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald, New England has signed sophomore quarterback back to their practice squad. This comes one day after the Patriots waived the Ole Miss Rebels product from their roster.
The Patriots’ main roster consists of third-year product and starter Mac Jones and another sophomore in Bailey Zappe. With Corral back on the practice squad, New England has extra insurance at the game’s most important position.
The 24-year-old Corral was drafted in the third round (94th overall) by the Carolina Panthers in 2022. Unfortunately, a Lisfranc injury sidelined the former Ole Miss star for his entire rookie season.
Carolina shook up its QB room under new head coach Frank Reich, signing former Cincinnati Bengals’ Pro Bowler Andy Dalton before using the No. 1 pick of this year’s draft on Alabama product Bryce Young.

Corral was waived by the Panthers and then picked up by the Patriots late last month.
New England is off to a tough 0-2 start, having opened the season with back-to-back home losses against the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. This marks their first 0-2 start since 2001, when a future legend named Tom Brady subsequently led the franchise to win its first Super Bowl championship.
The Patriots will try to rebound when they visit the AFC East rival New York Jets this Sunday.
