The New England Patriots have made the decision to release one of their quarterbacks amid this season’s struggles.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Pats have waived Will Grier.
Grier was signed to the team’s active roster from the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad in September, with head coach Bill Belichick bringing him in for depth behind Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. Despite the offensive difficulties experienced, Grier has not gotten a look in. In fact, he hasn’t played in the regular season since he was with the Carolina Panthers in 2019.
He’s now going to have to look for a new team but could join New England’s practice squad once he clears waivers.
The Patriots are 2-8 this season and are bottom of the AFC East.
