There seems to be something major going on behind the scenes and it involves standout college quarterback Drake Maye.
Drake Maye looks the part of an NFL quarterback, but will he pay off in the long run? Well, it seems at least one team thinks so and is doing their best to ensure he ends up with them when it is all said and done.
On X, it was revealed that New England Patriots Director of College Scouting, Camren Williams, liked a tweet that stated Drake Maye is headed to the Minnesota Vikings. It states the team is ending a godfather offer to either the Washington Commanders at No. 2 or to the New England Patriots at No. 3 that would put them in a position to select Drake Maye out of North Carolina.
The tweet further states that former NFL quarterback Josh McCown, who is the Minnesota Vikings QB coach, coached Drake Maye when he was in high school. The tweet added that Maye also fits Kevin O’Connell’s system perfectly.
It should be noted that McCown was the same man who could be heard informing CJ Stroud that he would be living in Charlotte, implying that the Panthers would be taking him in the Draft. As we saw, the team went with Bryce Young instead.

Minnesota Vikings Made Trade With Texans To Move Up In The NFL Draft To Possibly Get Drake Maye In Packaged Deal
The Minnesota Vikings decided not to bring star quarterback Kirk Cousins back this offseason as he signed a huge deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Minnesota Vikings then made a trade with the Houston Texans and will now have the Nos. 11 and 23 overall picks in the first round come April 25th. The Vikings traded a second-round pick, a sixth-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick to the Texans in exchange for the 23rd overall pick in the 2024 draft.
It is clear the team is trying to position themselves to take a star quarterback.
Many assume the team is trying to get Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy but it appears they have their eyes on a much bigger prize in Drake Maye.
Last season, Maye threw for 3,608 yards, 24 touchdowns, and nine interceptions for the Tar Heels. The previous year, he had 4,321 passing yards, 38 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, according to ESPN.com.
