More interesting details have emerged on Jamal Adams’ absence from the Seattle Seahawks-Philadelphia Eagles “Monday Night Football” game.
The Seahawks made the former Pro Bowler a healthy scratch for Monday night’s pivotal home contest against the reigning NFC Champions. Seattle’s D held the vaunted Philly offense to just 17 points in a 20-17 win that snapped a four-game losing streak.
Head coach Pete Carroll revealed in an interview on KIRO-AM radio Tuesday (h/t Gregg Bell of The News Tribune), that Adams wasn’t even at Lumen Field on Monday. According to Carroll, Adams was disappointed when he learned that he wasn’t going to play, and the Seattle coach believes the 28-year-old was at home during the game.
“I think he was home,” Carroll said. “It was hard on him. We talked about it, and how he was going to deal with it. And he didn’t need to be there.”
Per Bell, Carroll added that Adams will be back for Sunday’s pivotal clash against the Tennessee Titans.
“We need him,” Carroll said on Adams.
