Yesterday, the world was left in shock by the sad news that we had lost one of the greatest, most popular TV dads in history, Bob Saget. The popular star of “Full House” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos” passed away in his Orlando hotel room on Sunday at the age of 65.
Since word of his passing became public, many have been sharing their stories about the beloved comedian. And among all the tributes was this awesome video from Saget’s appearance on Barstool Radio prior to the 2021 NFL Draft. During the chaotic segment, Bob talks about his Eagles fandom and shows off an Eagles trading card he has of himself.
Then, after being asked for his thoughts on who Philly should take in the upcoming draft, Saget wisely answers, “That would be Micah Parsons, probably.”
Saget’s answer was met with a ton of hostility, as some even suggested that the coaching staff should be fired if the pick isn’t DeVonta Smith. Have a listen:
As we all know by now, the Eagles went on to select the Heisman Trophy winning wideout with the 10th overall selection, while the Cowboys took the Penn State linebacker just two picks later.

Smith had a solid rookie season, with 64 receptions for 916 yards and 5 touchdowns. I’m sure Eagles fans are still very happy with the pick… But it was Parsons who emerged as 2021’s most impressive freshman, racking up 84 tackles, 13 sacks and three forced fumbles while making a strong case, not only for Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, but for Defensive Player of the Year as well.
Looks like Bob Saget was onto something. May he rest in peace.
