The “Quarterback” TV series on Netflix was so successful that the streaming service giant is running a follow-up series on a different NFL position.
On Tuesday, Netflix announced that they are launching a new TV series called “Receiver” later this year. Taking center stage? Five prominent NFL pass-catchers in Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions plus Deebo Samuel and George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers.
Like the “Quarterback” series, “Receivers” will be produced by NFL FIlms, 2PM Productions and NFL legend Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions company. In the announcement, Netflix stated that it’ll be an eight-episode series, documenting the aforementioned five star pass-catchers over the 2023 NFL season.
The success of “Quarterback” led to plenty of calls for a second season, but reports indicated that Manning was finding it difficult to find other NFL signal-callers to participate in it. The first season focused on Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Kirk Cousins (Vikings) and Marcus Mariota (Atlanta Falcons) during the 2022 NFL campaign.

Adams, Jefferson, Kittle, Samuel and St. Brown have combined for 17 Pro Bowls in their respective careers. The 31-year-old Adams, the longest-tenured of these five NFL stars, leads the way with six.
Netflix “Receiver” Should Be A Thrilling Series For NFL Fans
Needless to say, these five NFL stars promise to offer plenty of entertaining content for the upcoming Netflix program. Just think about what all five of them endured during the 2023 NFL season.
Adams experienced a QB, head coach and GM change mid-season in Sin City. Jefferson missed seven games yet still went off for 1,074 receiving yards. St. Brown led the Lions to their first playoff win and NFC Championship Game appearance since 1991. Kittle and Samuel guided the 49ers back to the Super Bowl, where they dropped a heartbreaker to Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs.
With all that action and drama surrounding the five stars, NFL fans should not be disappointed with the new Netflix series.
