Having arrived in Duval ahead of the 2021 season, Trevor Lawrence has begun his career with 40 consecutive starts.
The Jaguars have added some insurance to the quarterback room ahead of Thursday Night Football since their starting quarterback is injured. The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed practice squad quarterback Nathan Rourke to the active roster.
The signing of Rourke gives the Jaguars much-needed insurance in the event starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence misses his first NFL start with a knee injury. Lawrence wore a brace on his left leg during Tuesday’s practice and was listed as a limited participant.
Lawrence left Sunday’s 37-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts with a knee injury after rolling out and taking a sack. There was zero need for him to be in the game as there was just over 3:00 left in the game
If Lawrence does start, the Jaguars can at least have Rourke active for game day. He has started all 42 games of his career since the Jaguars drafted him with the No. 1 overall pick in 2021.
So far this season, Lawrence has completed 67.1% of his passes for 1,439 yards and seven touchdowns with three interceptions.
