An NFL executive believes that a struggling NFC Team should inquire about Pittsburgh Steelers star running back Najee Harris.
The third-year back is on pace for his worst season as a pro. Harris 300 rushing yards and one touchdown in six contests, averaging 3.9 yards per carry and a career-low 50 rushing yards per contest.
With Harris struggling and likely to fall short of 1,000 yards rushing for the first time in his young NFL career, many have called for Pittsburgh to trade the 2021 first-round pick and give RB2 Jaylen Warren more playing time.
Speaking to NFL Analysis Network, a league executive opined that the Green Bay Packers call the Steelers to see if they can complete a trade for Harris.
“I think the Steelers are ready to move on from Najee Harris. If that is the case, the Packers should come calling. That running game has been awful and they need to do right by Jordan Love and do what it takes to bring in some help.”
The Packers expected the dynamic running back duo of Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon to carry the offense under new starting QB Jordan Love. But Dillon has just 255 yards and one touchdown, while Jones has mustered a mere 94 yards in three contests.

Green Bay needs to shake up the struggling offense in some form, and a two-time 1,000-yard rusher like Harris could do the trick. If the Packers had interest in Harris, perhaps they’d offer Dillon or Jones as part of the return?
This is merely speculation, but if Harris does hit the trade block, the Packers should be among the interested clubs. The would provide the Packers with a new workhorse running back to help the development of Love, who simply needs more talent around him.
