The Browns clinched their spot in the playoffs following their Week 17 win over the Jets. It was the first time since 2020 that the Browns have clinched a playoff spot.
The Browns rolled out several different starting quarterbacks en route to their second playoff berth. Deshaun Watson started Cleveland’s first three games before an injury forced rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson to play one game but then the team would turn to P.J. Walker for several weeks.
Watson returned to the lineup but would soon sustain a season-ending shoulder injury. The team then gave Thompson-Robinson another shot as they also decided to bring in Joe Flacco from his couch. That changed everything.
The Browns became the first team in NFL history to reach the playoffs after having four different quarterbacks make multiple starts.
All-Pro pass rusher Myles Garrett recently spoke about what this season feels like in his eyes and he thinks the team is looking quite similar to the Philadelphia Eagles from 2017.
“It is kind of eerily similar {to the Eagles 2017 Super Bowl team} from having the same coach (Jim Schwartz), who was on that team, who is here & he’s definitely brought it up a couple times,” he told Fox Sports.

Once the Ravens beat the Dolphins to claim the top seed in the AFC North, the Browns were also locked into the fifth seed in the AFC North. They will face the winner of the AFC South for their Wild Card playoff game.
The team will be resting starters in Week 18 since they have nothing to play for.
