Well, this is just good news for the Houston Texans.
Deshaun Watson may have 22 civil lawsuits hanging over his head, but the biggest news came when quarterback avoided criminal charges for multiple accusations of sexual assault and misconduct at a grand jury Friday.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Texans want three first-round picks and more for the 26-year-old quarterback and multiple teams are willing to actually pay it.
USA Today Sports, citing sources, reported that the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saint, and Seattle Seahawks have shown interest in Watson.
The Texans refused to trade Watson last year after he made his displeasure with the organization clear, plus his legal issues made it difficult to do so. Now, Houston is expected to get a haul of draft picks for the quarterback, who they signed to a four-year, $177.5 million contract extension with $111 million guaranteed.
One team will be getting a dynamic QB while the Texans will be in rebuild mode with a ton of picks to help along the way.
