Not much has gone right for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in year one of the post-Tom Brady era, but it didn’t stop GM Jason Licht and head coach Todd Bowles from letting a popular YouTube personality live out his dream.
On Saturday afternoon, YouTube star MrBeast (real name Jimmy Donaldson) posted a video of detailing his short-lived career as a player for the Buccaneers. Yes, you read that correctly.
At the 10:55 mark of the video, MrBeast is seen meeting with Bucs GM Jason Licht. The Super Bowl-winning executive give MrBeast a contract that says $10 million and said, “You’re officially a player.”
MrBeast doesn’t actually get the $10 million, of course, and the contract text states that he’s only part of the team for 48 hours. The contract allowed him to meet the players and head coach Todd Bowles.
As well, MrBeast was allowed to run onto the field with the players for one of the club’s home games.
What an awesome experience for MrBeast, and what a kind gesture on the Bucs’ end.
