The NFL world is in mourning today after it was announced that 25-year-old Jeff Gladney had passed away early this morning.
The announcement was made earlier today, as one of Jeff’s former teammates at Texas Christian University, Eagles wide receiver Jalen Reagor, took to Twitter to mourn the loss of his best friend.

At the time, it was unknown what had caused the untimely death of the former Minnesota Vikings first round pick.
More details have since emerged, as Gladney’s agent confirmed that the Cardinals defensive back was involved in a fatal car accident in Dallas early this morning. He was accompanied by a 26-year-old female at the time, and both are said to have passed away as a result of the two-vehicle accident.

No word yet on what caused the accident or whether either driver was speeding or under the influence of alcohol.
Gladney was selected 31st overall by the Vikings in 2020. After two seasons with the team, he was released this offseason and signed with the Cardinals, where he was expected to compete for the starting cornerback position opposite Byron Murphy Jr.
