The Washington Commanders face a major question ahead of the Oct. 31 trade deadline: Should they trade a top defensive player?
If the Washington Commanders make defensive end Montez Sweat available, it seems one team is already willing to take him on.
According to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post, one team has already made an offer for Sweat but it remains unclear which team is making that offer and what the terms are.
Josina Anderson reported there is a healthy market for both Sweat and Young ahead of the trade deadline, so it’ll be interesting to see if Washington starts receiving offers for Young as well.
Washington is not actively looking to move either player, but reports have indicated offers will be considered if they check in near the team’s asking price.
Sweat, a former Mississippi State first-round pick, has produced a lot of work this year. In just seven games, he already has two forced fumbles, 5.5 sacks, and 27 total tackles.

Drafted in the first round (26th overall) in the 2019 NFL draft, Sweat has thus far been the best of Washington’s defensive ends.
Last season, Sweat had career-highs in tackles for a loss (14) and quarterback hits (28). In addition, Sweat also contributed 8.0 quarterback sacks. His career high came in 2020 with 9.0.
