BREAKING: Detroit Lions Reportedly Sign Former Big Ten Superstar Running Back

The Lions are reuniting with running back amid injuries to David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.

With the Detroit Lions missing David Montgomery for the foreseeable future, they’re bringing back a familiar name in Mohamed Ibrahim.

According to his agent Matt Leist, the former Minnesota Golden Gophers running back has been re-signed by the Lions. He’s set to return to the team’s practice squad.

Context: Ibrahim joined Detroit after being an un-drafted free agent in April and was initially let go by the Lions in August.

The 25-year-old was initially signed by Detroit as an undrafted free agent this spring. He was trending in the right direction until he suffered an injury in the Lions’ second preseason game.

The Lions will more than likely be rolling with Jahmyr Gibbs as their lead back and Craig Reynolds backing him up.
