The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and are now making a roster move before their next game.
24-year-old QB Tanner Morgan has been released from the practice squad after joining the group last week.
The former Minnesota Golden Gopher came in as a backup after backup Nick Mullens suffered a back injury and was ruled inactive for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.
In five years as the Gophers starter, Morgan threw for 9,469 yards, 65 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions.
The 24-year-old was an undrafted free agent and signed with the Steelers only to get released near the end of training camp.
Morgan was the eighth overall pick by the Michigan Panthers of the USFL but chose to forgo playing in the spring football league as he hoped to catch on with an NFL team.
