The Minnesota Vikings will adapt to life without Kirk Cousins when they visit Atlanta on Sunday.
He might not be available to play with his teammates but he is certainly on their minds as they take in pre-game activities.
Inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Vikings players could be seen rocking shirts featuring their star quarterback.
The Vikings are 4-4 and on a three-game winning streak. They were looking really good to make a playoff run but now things are up in the air based on Cousins’ injury.
The QB threw for 2,331 yards and a league-high 18 touchdowns before his injury. He will earn a total of $35 million in 2023. He was on track to earn his third consecutive trip to the Pro Bowl and the fifth of his 12-year career before the injury.
The 35-year-old Cousins is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason after the two sides were unable to agree to an extension leading into 2023. Cousins will still be rehabbing by the time free agency rolls around this spring, but Minnesota will have more medical information about his recovery than other teams by that point.
