The Minnesota Vikings are the betting favorites to draft one of the top 2023 quarterback prospects at a premier sportsbooks.
Per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, DraftKings lists Minnesota as the odds-on favorites to select Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Hendon Hooker at +350. The Vikings hold the No. 23 selection in the draft.
The Seattle Seahawks (owners of the No. 5 and No. 20 selections), have the second-best odds from DraftKings at +900. They are followed by the Tennessee Titans (the No. 11 selection) and Detroit Lions (the No. 6 and No. 18 selections) at +1000 and +1100, respectively.
Minnesota has veteran Kirk Cousins under contract for one more season. Drafting Hooker or another quarterback in round one would obviously suggest that the Vikings are planning to move on from Cousins.
That said, Minnesota did draft Kellen Mond in the third round (66th overall) in 2021, seemingly with the idea of having him take over as the starter in the near future. But of course, Mond was released by the Vikings ahead of the 2021 season.
