Minnesota selected the 25-year-old Mekhi Blackmon after being named First Team All-Pac-12 in his lone season with the Trojans.
During his rookie campaign, he recorded 41 combined tackles, eight passes defensed, and one interception, per ESPN.com.
This is simply just horrible news and an incredibly unfortunate development that he is lost for the year with a torn ACL as the team and position group are still trying to come to terms with the tragic loss of rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson, who was killed in a car accident earlier this month.
Earlier this year, the Vikings signed cornerback Shaquill Griffin to a one-year contract, but the team is clearly in the market for a new cornerback.
