A viral video of ESPN’s Mina Kimes and Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young is going viral as the latter awaits his name to be called at the 2023 NFL Draft.
As you’ve probably heard by now, plenty of scouts and coaches are worried about Young’s size for NFL quarterback standards. The 2021 Heisman Trophy winner is listed at 6 feet in height and 194 pounds.
Many folks on social media are now making jokes that this side-by-side photo of Young and Kimes will further ruin Young’s draft stock:
But Kimes had a simple explanation as to why Young doesn’t appear that much taller than her. Kimes stated that she was wearing four-inch heels during the photo take:
Young is one of the top four prospects who’s widely expected to be in contention as the first overall choice in April’s draft, along with Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, Alabama outside linebacker Will Anderson Jr. and Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter.

In regards to questions about Young’s size? One just needs to look at how future Hall of Fame inductee Drew Brees and nine-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson turned out despite plenty of doubts about them.
At the end of the day, it’d be quite a draft day stunner if he wasn’t a top-four pick.
