On Sunday, the Minneosta Vikings fell to 2-2 with a 16-6 loss to the Chicago Bears and Kirk Cousins has caught a lot of heat in the aftermath of that game.
What made the loss even worse is that the Bears lost Mitch Trubisky to a shoulder injury on the 1st drive of the game and they still won.
On Sunday, Vikings receiver Adam Thielen came very close to publicly calling out quarterback Kirk Cousins.
On Monday, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer pretty much echoed Thielen’s poing and added to it.
“There’s times you’ve just to pull the trigger,” Zimmer told reporters a day after the Vikings lost to the Bears in Chicago, 16-6. “And you’ve just got to believe that you’re gonna make the throw.”
While Cousins connected on 27 of 36 throws during the game, he missed some opportunities down the field as Thielen pointed out.

“I think there were some times he might have gotten rid of it a little bit too soon,” Zimmer said regarding Cousins. “But you know when you’re getting pounded a few times, sometimes you’ve got to take the quick throw.”
While Zimmer refrained from placing blame on Cousins, he didn’t exactly give him a vote of confidence either when asked about his growing reputation for underperforming in big games with a 5-27 career record against winning teams.
“I don’t know,” Zimmer said, according to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin. “You’d have to ask him.”
Whatever the case may be, the Vikings better figure it out because they are currently in dead last in the NFC North.
