Los Angeles Chargers veteran wide receiver Mike Williams left Sunday’s 28-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings early with an apparent injury that will hurt the team in the long run.

Williams will get an MRI today to determine the severity of the injury, and Ian Rapoport says there is “real fear” within the organization that it won’t bring back good news.
The 28-year-old was selected with the No. 7 overall pick by the Chargers out of Clemson in the 2017 NFL draft.
Williams was instrumental to the Chargers carrying a lead over the Vikings into the fourth quarter of Sunday’s Week 3 matchup, hauling in six passes for 110 yards and a touchdown.

In 2023, Williams appeared in three games for the Chargers and recorded 19 receptions on 26 targets for 249 yards and one touchdown.
He has caught at least 43 passes in all but his rookie season and has amassed at least 895 receiving yards in three of his past four seasons.
