There is truly no love lost between Mike Tomlin and his former players.
In 2018, the Steelers played the entire season without 2018.
In 2019, the Steelers will be playing without Antonio Brown after trading him to the Raiders and without Bell after letting him walk and sign with the New York Jets.
Mike Tomlin seems to think that is a good thing.
The Pittsburgh Steelers head coach appeared on ESPN’s draft coverage over the weekend and was asked about the offseason departures of Bell and Brown.
“There’s been a cleansing, if you will.”

Bell had 7,996 yards from scrimmage and 42 touchdowns through his first five years. Brown is first in receiving yards (11,207) and second in touchdown receptions (74) since entering the NFL in 2010.
That is a lot of production in two players who are gone from the franchise forever.
