Mike Tomlin has always been a man that spoke matter-of-factly on every situation. He does not mince words and you will feel everything that comes out of his mouth.
The Pittsburgh Steelers head coach had a short response Tuesday when he was asked whether Bell would elevate the New York Jets offense going into 2019 and beyond.
“I would hope so; you guys are paying him enough,” Tomlin said, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Bell has spent the entirety of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he absolutely refused to play under the franchise tag in 2018, so he elected to sit out and bet on himself in free agency.
The two sides couldn’t come to an agreement over a long-term deal, especially when it came to guaranteed dollars, so he went out got $61 million over four years from the Jets.
His replacement, James Conner, filled in nicely as he rushed for 1,470 yards from scrimmage and 14 total touchdowns in 13 games.

Despite his success, the Steelers finished the season 9-6-1 and missed the postseason.
As far as the Jets are concerned, their hope is to improve from their 4-12 record.
