Before the Pittsburgh Steelers got on the plane to head for Cincinnati to take on the Bengals, head coach Mike Tomlin gave everyone on the team a very important gift.
It was black Nike Air Force 1s. Running back Najee Harris showed his off on social media.
“Bro gave us all black Air Forces,” Najee Harris exclaimed in an Instagram story, closing the video with a shot of Tomlin smiling. “Aye coach funny af.”
If you are not in tune with the sneaker culture, there is significance to these shoes.
Tomlin is making sure people understand that the Steelers are not a team you want to mess with.
LeBron James saw Bleacher Report’s tweet and retweeted, “Coach Tomlin hilarious for that” and “he definitely setting the tone as well with that gift.”

It turns out that when Tomlin went to order the Air Force 1s, Nike was out of stock, so he got creative and turned to Pittsburgh painter and Steelers fan Cody Sabol.
Sabol painted and airbrushed 146 pairs in time for takeoff to Cincinnati.
