During Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals — Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin decided to bench Mason Rudolph and it led to a much needed victory.
The team decided to keep the good times rolling when they benched him for next week’s rematch against the Cleveland Browns and announce Devlin Hodges as the starter.
When asked why he made the change, Tomlin responded with a savage, yet honest quote that pretty much threw Rudolph under the bus.
Rudolph has been so-so with his play since in 2019, but has been downright terrible in the past two games, including him throwing four interceptions against the Browns in the controversial game that saw a brawl break out at the end of it.
He added one more interception against the Bengals before he got benched. After a 3-and-out top open the 2nd half, he was sat for Hodges who would go on to throw a long TD pass on his second throw of the game.
