A hilarious clip of a mic’d up Miami Dolphins’ head coach Mike McDaniel asking the ref for a friend is going viral.
McDaniel has quickly become one of the NFL’s most beloved figures, and not just because of the explosive highlight reel offense he’s built in Miami. McDaniel has also displayed a humorous and cheerful side, such as the instance in Week 2 against New England where he sprinted away from the cameraman at halftime.
Well, you can add another timeless Mike McDaniel soundbite to the library. Ahead of Sunday’s Week 4 game vs. the Buffalo Bills, the official came over to McDaniel and said to inform the sideline officials if he needs anything.
An always cheerful McDaniel told the official, “Phenomenal, I’m looking for friendship.”
Who wouldn’t want to play for this guy?

The Dolphins entered Sunday with a perfect 3-0 record, coming off a statement 70-20 win at home over the Denver Broncos. But their defense had no match for Josh Allen and the Bills, who cruised to a 48-20 victory.
Allen was near-perfect with 21 completions on 25 pass attempts for 320 yards and four touchdowns against zero interceptions. Buffalo’s inconsistent ground game also racked up 104 yards, even though Latavius Murray was the rushing leader with only 32 yards.
Now at 3-1, the Dolphins will try to rebound when they visit the struggling New York Giants this Sunday.
