The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins have developed quite the rivalry in the AFC East over the past few seasons.
While the Jets and Patriots continue to try and figure things out, the Fins and Bills have been battling it out for AFC East supremacy.
Last season, it was Buffalo who had the upper hand, winning the division before eliminating Miami in the Wild Card round. The Dolphins kicked off the 2023 campaign looking like they had finally moved past the Bills, but Josh Allen and company pumped the breaks on that conversation with an emphatic 48-20 victory in their latest battle on Sunday.
Despite everything that’s at stake between these two clubs, there remains a ton of respect between the head coaches of both teams. And never has that been more evident than during their postgame handshake following yesterday’s game.
As the two met at midfield, cameras caught a fired up Mike McDaniel whispering something into the ear of Sean McDermott. And NFL lip readers have since confirmed that the Dolphins head coach was simply telling McDermmott, “I respect the F out of you.”
With the Bills win, they move into a tie with the Dolphins for top spot in the AFC East with identical 3-1 records. They’ll meet once more in the final week of the season — in a game that could have massive playoff implications for both teams.
