Remember when the Miami Dolphins were 8-3 and the toast of the league as nobody expected them to be that good? The good times are gone as the team now sits at 8-8 and that playoff spot that was sure to come might not happen depending on what happens on the field on the final week of the regular season.
If they don’t win, major changes might be coming to the team this offseason.
According to Armando Salguero of OutKick, the Dolphins could part ways with head coach Mike McDaniel if they lose on Sunday to the Jets.
“If they win their season finale and sneak into the playoffs, owner Stephen Ross might look the other way on those five consecutive December-January losses because it will feel more like a skid than a collapse,” Salguero wrote. “But … If the Dolphins go from 8-3 to 8-9 and not in the playoffs? Everybody’s job is at risk.”
At one point, the Miami Dolphins looked like an actual Super Bowl contender, but multiple head concussions to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa pretty much caused him to miss multiple games and threw a monkey wrench into the season.
As for as Tua’s health is concerned, it may do him some good to not have to play additional games to further hurt him long-term.

The Dolphins would be completely insane to get rid of McDaniel after the start he had with this team.
