Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel got emotional on Friday afternoon as he spoke about the injury that had Tua Tagovailoa being carted off the field.
During the Miami Dolphins’ Week 4 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was stretchered off the field following a vicious sack that resulted in his back and head hitting the turf of Paycor Stadium.
It was an awful moment as millions saw Tua’s hands seize up right after. Tagovailoa was taken to the hospital immediately where the team reported that he was conscious and had movement in his extremities.
He was released from the hospital following the game and reportedly flew back to South Florida with the rest of the team.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel addressed Tua Tagovailoa’s injury and he got real emotional about it.
“I’ll never be comfortable with a player getting carted off the field,” McDaniel said. “Ever. It’s something you never want to be a part of. When I put myself there, this is what happens. It’s not fun. I’m just really glad I can hear normal Tua in his voice.”
