It has now been over a week since we found out that Aaron Rodgers does not want to play for the Green Bay Packers anymore. Just hours before the start of the 2021 NFL Draft, Adam Schefter of ESPN dropped the news that nobody saw coming.
Since then, we have found out that Rodgers has a wish list of teams, wants the GM fired, or may take things further by retiring altogether.
Rodgers’ former head coach Mike McCarthy, now leading the Dallas Cowboys, commented on the situation this week.
“I think it’s like everything in this business,” McCarthy said, via Jon Machota of TheAthletic.com. “I don’t think anything ever surprises you, and I think things like that go on. Conversations are always going on when it comes to player acquisition. Obviously, everyone knows the impact that Aaron Rodgers has made on the Green Bay Packers, but I didn’t really give it much thought. I haven’t seen anything happen, so it’s a good news story. . . . Jerry [Jones] told me when I got here, all news is good news.”
Rodgers and McCarthy were together for more than a decade in Green Bay, but things turned bad for him as the team parted ways with him after the 2018 season and it was widely reported that it had to do with his relationship with Rodgers.
This time around, Rodgers is reportedly mocking Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst with teammates.

“According to sources, Aaron Rodgers has mocked GM Brian Gutekunst in group chats with his teammates by referring to him as Jerry Krause,” The Athletic tweeted. “Krause, the GM of the Bulls during their run of six NBA championships, was loathed by Michael Jordan for some personnel moves.”
