Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy seemed stunned to hear his team is the underdogs against the 49ers on Sunday.
The Dallas Cowboys hit the road to face Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs on Sunday.
As of right now, oddsmakers do not care about the difference in QBs for both teams, because they currently list the 49ers as four-point home favorites entering the contest. That was quite shocking news to Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, who learned how Vegas viewed the contest on Friday.
“Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy on 105.3 The Fan on Dallas being an underdog vs. the 49ers on Sunday: ‘We’re the underdog? By 4? Wow. OK. Divisional round, so, no, we’re very confident. I think there’s an underdog in all of us as you thrive and strive through this business,’” wrote Cowboys beat reporter Jon Machota.
The Cowboys had a rather easy game against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round. Dak Prescott finished that game by completing 25 of his 33 passes for 305 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions.
The 49ers finished the 2022-23 campaign with a 13-4 record, good enough for first place in the NFC West.
