Once the final whistle blew on the Cowboys’ 19-12 Divisional Round loss, it was time for both sides to let bygones be bygones and exchange handshakes. Some thought another crushing loss in the postseason would be enough for Jerry Jones to show McCarthy the door and perhaps consider promoting defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to head coach—in order to prevent the latter from taking a head coaching job elsewhere.
However, based on Jones’ postgame comments last night, it seems like it’ll be McCarthy who stays and Quinn who ends up finding work elsewhere.
