Stephen A. Smith is still the most misinformed sports personality out there, but Mike Francesa seems to be giving him a run for his money.
During today’s show, the New York sports radio host discussed why he felt the officials from the Saints-Rams game were wrong for posing for a photo and swapping jerseys with Todd Gurley.
Francesa saw the pic on the Rams running back’s instagram page after he posted it following his team’s controversial win in the NFC Championship Game. Only problem is the photo is a fake…and it’s pretty damn obvious to anyone with two eyes and a brain.
For starters, do you really think an official would do this with a player just moments after making one of the most controversial endings in NFL playoff history?…
And then there’s the fact that Bill Vinovich has a black man’s arm in the photo…and he’s clearly wearing Saints colors from the waist down. So year, this photo was obviously photoshopped and therefore did not actually take place.
Francesa isn’t interested in these finer details, however. That’s why he chose to completely ignore them while explaining to his listeners why Todd Gurley swapping jerseys with Vinovich is a bad look for the league:

Before Francesa embarrassed himself any further, one of the producers was able to inform him during a commercial break that the photo is a fake.
