It’s that time of the year again. Yes, football is around the corner, but it’s the annual conversation of whether anybody is going to finally sign Colin Kaepernick after he was basically blackballed out of the league
The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback showed his interest in getting back into the league when he posted a video of an intense workout to show teams he is still ready for that comeback.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk recently put out an article that outlined how Kaepernick could make his return to the NFL. He suggested the XFL could poach many of the quarterbacks who would spend time on NFL practice squads or benches, which would leave an experienced NFL veterans such as Colin Kaepernick has a high commodity for multiple teams.
“If [NFL] teams keep two quarterbacks on the roster, an injury to the starter will create a need for a new backup. And if eight to 16 of the third-string quarterbacks who fail to make an active roster choose to accept jobs with the eight teams of the XFL, they won’t be available to the NFL.
That necessarily will bump Kaepernick’s name up the list of available free agents.”
The XFL is scheduled to kick off in 2020 and it’s looking like that might be the year where Colin Kaepernick makes his return to the National Football League.
